Oil firm director leaves role by mutual consent
The chief operating officer of North Sea explorer Enquest is stepping down immediately by mutual agreement.
Cambridge graduate Neil Mcculloch had joined the companyin2014frominternational oil and gas group OMV.
Enquest chairman Jock Lennox thanked Mcculloch for his “unstinting contribution to Enquest during a challenging period for both the company and industry”.
Following Mcculloch’s departure the company has appointed Faysal Hamza as interim head of North Sea and Bob Davenport as managing director, North Sea.
This summer Enquest delivered first oil from its Kraken project, one of the largest developments in the North Sea, on schedule and under budget.
Kraken, which lies about 80 miles east of Shetland, contains about 140 million barrels of oil. Enquest has a 70.5 per cent stake in Kraken, with Edinburgh-based Cairn holding the remainder.
