Maven seals another exit deal as firm snapped up

- By PERRY GOURLEY

Maven Capital Partners, the Glasgow-based private equity house, has secured its second sucessful exit deal in as many months.

Promotional merchandise business SPS (EU) Holdings, which Maven has backed since 2014, has been sold to US multinational PF Concept International. The investment delivered a three-times return on the funds Maven had put into the Blackpoolbased business.

The sale is the second profitable exit for Maven investors recently following the disposal of Strathaven-based Crawford Scientific for 4.7 times the initial investment in October.

Maven led a management buyout of SPS from 4imprint Group to support its growth plans.

Ryan Bevington, investment director at Maven, said: “We were very impressed with the management team’s vision for the SPS business from the outset. They have executed their strategy successfully, delivering robust growth by investing in the manufacturing and IT capabilities of the business.”
