Going nuclear: Babcock wins £95 million ten-year contract at Sellafield in Cumbria
Babcock has won a ten-year contract to supply the Sellafield nuclear site with specialist handling and containment systems. The engineering services group said that its subsidiary Cavendish Nuclear will design, make and supply “complex bespoke equipment” for treating and managing nuclear materials. The contract will be worth up to £95 million over the first three years, Babcock added. Cavendish Nuclear will use Rosyth Dockyard for the project and use a UK supply chain.
