Going nuclear: Babcock wins £95 million ten-year contract at Sellafield in Cumbria

Babcock has won a ten-year contract to supply the Sellafield nuclear site with specialist handling and containmen­t systems. The engineerin­g services group said that its subsidiary Cavendish Nuclear will design, make and supply “complex bespoke equipment” for treating and managing nuclear materials. The contract will be worth up to £95 million over the first three years, Babcock added. Cavendish Nuclear will use Rosyth Dockyard for the project and use a UK supply chain.
