Scott to lead U20s along with Walker and Fisher
Stevie Scott has been named head coach of the Scotland under-20s, with former international winger Nikki Walker and Ben Fisher as his assistants.
Former Edinburgh forwards coach Scott said: “I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead a talented Scotland U20 side and I’m excited to work alongside two of Scottish rugby’s most promising young coaches .”
Walker, who has 24 caps was player-coach at Hawick. Fisher has coached Scotland age-group sides at U 16, U 17 and U 18 levels, as well as in the BT Premiership with Boroughmuir.
Scott added: “We’ve already had two productive training days with the squad and the boys have looked really sharp. We’re now fully focused on preparing for the first game of next year’s Six Nations in Wales.”
Former hooker Scott began his coaching career in 2006 with Selkirk, before three years with Scottish Rugby’s national academy.
Following a four-month period as Edinburgh Rugby’s interim head coach, Scott was appointed forwards coach in 2013, where he remained until his departure at the end of last season.
Walker, 35, who won the Pro12 twice as a player with Ospreys will oversee the U20 attack. New Zealandborn Fisher, who played for Boroughmuir, was an assistant coach to John Dalziel during last year’s U20 Six Nations and will coach the defensive side.

“Stevie Scott brings a wealth of experience, Ben Fisher has impressed during the last two seasons, while Nikki Walker will bring his own brand of energy and innovation.
The U20s have two home games during next season’s Six Nations, against France at Cumbernauld’s Broadwood Stadium on Friday 9 February (7:45pm) and England at Myreside on Friday 23 February (7:30pm).
