£50m award for land management
Almost £50 million is being invested in the rural economy to promote good land management practices.
The Agri-environment Climate Change Scheme (AECS) 2017 has awarded £47.7mto 801 projects over the next five years. It aims to protect and enhance Scotland’s natural heritage, improve water quality, manage flood risk, and help agricultural businesses adapt to global warming.
Since it was launched in 2014, AECS has committed £99m to 1,417 businesses.
