#PMQS

Theresa May was accused of being callous after being asked at Prime Minister’s Questions about 2,500 children in the London borough of Wandsworth who would be homeless on Christmas Day. The Prime Minister’s reply, clarifying that homelessness did not necessarily mean sleeping ‘on the streets’, sparked outrage. @Marycreaghmp said: “Terrible start to #PMQS as PM channels Scrooge, tells Commons homeless children aren’t sleeping on the streets.” @Peston noted: “For @theresa_may to attack Labour’s wholly accurate use of the word ‘homeless’ in relation to children in Wandsworth seems a million miles from THAT speech she gave on steps of Downing Street.” @Cpjelmore tweeted: “All Theresa May has to do is walk outside to Westminster Tube Station to see how bad homelessness has become under her watch.”

#UBER

The European Court of Justice has ruled that Uber is a transport company and not a digital service and can therefore can be regulated like a taxi service. @adrianweckler tweeted: “That’s basically it for Uber in Europe. ECJ says it has to abide by taxi rules. Will never be like Uber in US.” @d_extrovert added: “Americans innovate, Europeans apply fines and enforce greater regulations.”
