Dunfermline Pantomime villain

-

The pantomime season came early at Paisley on Saturday. Oh yes it did! Our best performance in seven barren weeks was totally undermined by bewildering scenes, where the officials gave a penalty then, under duress from St Mirren players, unaccountably changed their minds.

The ref pointed to the spot. His assistant signalled and said “penalty”, so Higginbotham placed the ball on the spot. I have seldom seen officials crumble under player pressure.

We dominated the second half and that augurs well for the third quarter with reinforcements in place. Next up are Brechin. You cannot underestimate a club which has held Dundee United and lost by the odd goal to the other top three. Nerves would jangle should they score first.
