Pensioner gets slashed on face while in his car

Police are hunting two people who slashed an elderly man in the face as he sat in his car in Glasgow.

The 73-year-old victim was using his phone on St James Road about 2:30pm on Thursday when two men opened the car door and attacked him.

He was left with a serious cut and was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Police said the victim was later released, but will need further treatment.

Officers are checking CCTV in the area and making door-to-door enquiries. Detective Constable Vicky Martin described it as a “callous” attack.
