COUNTY COUNTING THE COST OF REFS’ DECISIONS – DAVIES

-

Captain Andrew Davies claims referees have “definitely played a big part” in Ross County’s Ladbrokes Premiership struggle so far this season. The Staggies are without a win in six games and sit second bottom of the table, two points ahead of Partick Thistle. Boss Owen Coyle suggested his side were denied a legitimate goal after Alex Schalk’s effort was ruled out for offside in the goalless draw against Hearts in November. And after the 2-1 defeat by Rangers at Ibrox earlier in the month, Coyle was adamant his team should have had a spotkick after defender Bruno Alves barged into Davies. Davies continued the theme. He said: “The decisions that have gone against us...if you look through a course of a season, you say, alright we have had a couple of decisions [against you] but I think these decisions now are affecting where we are in the table. “If the referees had got those decisions right we would have maybe got a couple of draws or even nicked a win and then you get confidence and momentum moving forward. “But the referees have definitely played a big part in where we are but we don’t feel sorry for ourselves.”
