Source of denial

“It wasnae me, a big boy done it and ran away/ my accusers are liars.” These are the familiar statements made by powerful men like Donald Trump and Damian Green. They instinctively seem to sense that “deny, discredit and deflect” is their best line of defence. Sadly, they only resort to this tactic because it works.
