Blaze in Glasgow flat block sparks swift evacuation

Residents from a block of flats in Glasgow had to be evacuated after a blaze broke out yesterday morning.

The alarm was raised at 2:03am over the incident at a building on Craigmilla­r Road.

A property on the first floor had gone up in flames, forcing firefighte­rs to escort ten people from neighbouri­ng flats out of the building.

The people were treated for minor smoke inhalation by paramedics, but did not require hospital treatment.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
