Man assaulted after trying to help lone drunk

A man has been allegedly assaulted in Arbroath after coming to the aid of a drunk pedestrian.

The incident happened about 1:30am on Saturday at the junction of Antiquary Gardens and West Way.

A 63-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a man he was trying to help in the street who appeared heavily under the influence of alcohol. The victim was not seriously hurt, but sustained facial injuries.
