Horses evacuated after Liverpool fire

A horse show was cancelled as firefighters last night tackled a major blaze at a multi-storey car park next to the Echo Arena in Liverpool’s city centre.

Flames engulfed a number of vehicles next to the venue on Liverpool’s waterfront. Twelve fire engines were called to the building at King’s Dock.

An evening session of the Liverpool International Horse Show was called off.

No-one was believed to have been hurt. Some apartments nearby had to be evacuated due to smoke billowing from the fire.
