United alert to underdogs’ Dyer warning

-

Brechin defender Willie Dyer has warned Dundee United they are ready to pile more misery on them in today’s Tannadice clash.

Csaba Laszlo’s title hopefuls fell five points behind Championship leaders St Mirren thanks to Friday night’s 2-0 defeat in Paisley and know they can’t afford many more slip-ups in the race for the flag, but former Dundee full-back Dyer says his side will head to Tannadice with confidence having held United to a 1-1 draw at Glebe Park in November.

Dyer said: “I think all the pressure is on Dundee United. They will be looking to bounce back from losing at St Mirren but we’ll have other ideas and don’t fear gong to Tannadice.

“We almost got a draw there at the start of the season so we know what we have to do. As underdogs, we’ll just go about our business quietly.” Meanwhile, Laszlo, left, has told his players there’s no time to feel sorry for themselves as they aim to get their promotion push back on track. He said: “It’s a quick turnaround and we have to get back to winning ways.

“We respect every team in the division and Brechin are difficult opponents.

“We’re not happy with Friday night’s result and want to put things right at the first opportunity.”
