Man found with ‘unexplained’ head injury dies

A man found lying in the road with a serious head injury on New Year’s Day has died.

The 67-year-old was found by a member of the public at the junction of Mains Road and Bayne Square, in the Hilltown area of Dundee at around 11pm on 1 January.

He was helped into a nearby house and then taken to hospital but died yesterday.

Police are treating the death as unexplained but said there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

They are appealing for any witnesses.
