Alienated

I read Ross Douthat’s article on the US investing in UFO research and I have to say the most remarkable aspect of it was its incoherence.

However, it was only when I came to his last sentence that the veil lifted and I found myself in complete agreement.

Like Ross, I could not possibly trust in a God who performed tricks like turning water into wine, restoring life to a pal long since dead, transforming into a mortal then forecasting and engineering his own death only to restore life to himself.

And, in the latter case, causing one of his followers to take his own life because he believed he had betrayed this God. Such chicanery would be intolerable as Ross seems to indicate. That was the point of his article, was it not?
