Financial giant bolsters 1825 offering in London

0 Latest acquisitio­n will add 21 people to the headcount at the 1825 financial planning business Standard Life Aberdeen’s financial planning business, 1825, has acquired a London firm with some £400 million of assets under advice.

Thefinanci­algiantsai­dcumberlan­d Place Financial Management would strengthen 1825’s London presence with the addition of 21 employees including six financial planners, three paraplanne­rs and three investment analysts.

Cumberland Place’s two founding directors, Tony Moss and Robert Goldschmid­t, will continue to run the business after completion. The latest deal means that 1825 now has some 75 financial planners, advising around 9,000 clients on more than £4 billion of their assets.

Julie Scott, chief executive of 1825, said: “As the demand for financial advice continues to grow in the UK we want to be able to offer the best service and propositio­n possible with a great set of experts to support them.”

The transactio­n is expected to complete in the first half of this year, Standard Life added.
