Fire alarm forces ITV News off air

The itv newsroom was evacuated during alive programme after a fire alarm went off.

Tom Bradby was presenting News at Ten on Wednesday night when he told viewers the alarm had gone off and staff had to leave the building. He said: “We will get back to you with the rest of the programme if we possibly can.”

Afterwards, he tweeted: “Sorry about the disruption tonight. False alarm, it seems. Words fail me.”

ITV later said it was a false alarm and that all staff were safe.
