Ban for woman, 95, after fatal crash

A 95-year-old woman has been banned from driving for life after causing the death of a groundskee­per when she lost control of her car in a cemetery. Gertrude Lister, of Bray, Berkshire, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court to 16 months’ imprisonme­nt suspended for two years after she pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. She was also ordered to pay £535 costs.

A police spokesman said Lister caused the death of Paul Mills, 47, in the incident on 14 February last year.
