Not so misogynist
With regard to the obituary of Pat Hiddleston (1 January), as the one surviving member of the Edinburgh University Mathematics Department from her student days, I feel I should say that there was only one member of staff with misogynist tendencies. Also, there was no dissent from the award of the Napier Medal to Pat in 1956, and I would point out that it had previously been awarded, in only the second year of its existence, to Marion Cameron Gray in 1922.
