Holy man feeds gulls on sacred rivers as Hindus gather for Magh Mela
A Hindu holy man feeds Siberian seagulls at the “Sangam” – the meeting-point of the Indian holy rivers the Ganges and the Yamuna – during the annual traditional fair of Magh Mela in the city of Allahabadinindia yesterday.
Some hundreds of thousands of devout Hindus are expected to take holy dips at the confluence during the astronomically auspicious period of over 45 days which is celebrated as Magh Mela.
