Nicola Sturgeon claimed in a newspaper column that Scottish independence “must remain an option” as she criticised the “ongoing horror show” of the Conservatives’ Brexit plans. @MAXQTV said: “It is clearly in Scotland’s interest, if it wants a shadow of economic status quo, to go independent. Not that there IS a status quo as such. All logic says so. It’s not my place to argue for it, but I have noted how cautious Nicola Sturgeon has been about explaining why this is.” @Daskineanderew commented: “Can someone please change the record - for 10 years it’s all we’ve heard, they said they would respect the decision on the referendum. Now anytime anything doesn’t go their way it’s rolled out again. @ Nicolasturgeon give it up, it’s not going to happen now.” @Johndowson3 offered: “Scottish people have the courage to back @thesnp but only if @Nicolasturgeon gives a clear lead and vision. The clock is ticking on EU and we are about to leave. We are stuck to London. Can SNP lead us out of UK?” @Garyether added: “Of course the real dilemma for Nicola Sturgeon is that she wants an Indyref2 at a time when she feels confident of winning. There is absolutely no sign that a Yes vote would triumph right now and a failed vote would mean no further Indyref for at least a generation.”
