Willow weave: Native wood employed by artist to evoke the landscape of Galloway in Edinburgh exhibition

-

My Mother’s Garden, made by Lizzie Farey using home-grown Scottish willow, features in the A Fine Line exhibition which continues at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh until 18 February. The show also includes a range of work by fellow artists Angie Lewin, Frances Priest and Bronwen Sleigh, including prints and drawings, sculpture, collage and ceramics. Farey’s work, which also uses birch, heather, bog myrtle and many other native woods, is largely influenced by the nature and landscape of Galloway.
