Four pedestrian­s mowed down as car mounts kerb

Four men have been injured after being hit by a car that mounted the kerb in St Andrews.

The incident in the Fife university town happened about 11:45am yesterday.

Witnesses reported a Volkswagen Golf mounting the pavement outside Bonkers gift shop on the corner of Market Street and Church Street before colliding with a group of pedestrian­s. Three ambulances attended the scene, with the road closed following the crash. The victims were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with leg and back injuries.
