Plan to build dementia homes and ‘youth foyer’

Dementia-friendly housing will be built next to accommodation for homeless young people in Stranraer.

A “youth foyer” and new facilities for the Loreburn Housing Association will be constructed on the site of the former Garrick Hospital.

Eight one-bed and four two-bed “extra care” dementia-friendly homes will be created as well as accommodation for up to 12 young people.
