Flynn to sign for St Mirren today

-

Championship leaders St Mirren will add to their pool today with the signing of one-time Liverpool and Falkirk winger Ryan Flynn, who was released by Oldham Athletic on Saturday.

Saints boss Jack Ross said on Friday that he was hoping to add two new players and he has secured the first of those with the capture of Flynn.

The 29-year-old Edinburghborn wide-man started off at Falkirk but moved to Liverpool in 2005, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2006 and 2007.

Flynn gained first-team experience during a temporary spell at Wrexham before returning to Falkirk in 2009 on a loan deal that was quickly converted into a permanent switch.

During a two-year stint at Falkirk, Flynn became the first Falkirk player to score in a European tie when he netted the winner in a Uefa Europa League tie against FC Vaduz before joining Oldham from Sheffield United in 2016. A club source said: “It looks good for Ryan to come as he is now a free agent. His experience will be a great asset.”
