The company was awarded just three stars in seven of the eight categories in total, including punctuality, value for money and frequency of trains.
It was awarded an overall customer score of 51 per cent, ranking below other train companies that operate in Scotland, including Transpennine Express, Cross Country, Virgin Trains East Coast and Virgin Trains West Coast.
According to new data from consumer group Which?, across the UK, 13 per cent of commuters thought that the service from their train company had got worse, while 67 per cent thought it had stayed the same. Just 20 per cent saw an improvement.
Despite private investment in rail being at its highest in a decade at £925 million, Which?’s sixth annual rail surveyshowed manytrainfirmsacrossthe UK are still failing to properly address basic aspects of service for customers.
Alex Hayman, Which? managing director of public markets, said: “Fares are going up but passengers affected by delays, cancellations and dirty trains don’t feel that their services are getting any better.
