Scots footballer Robert Snodgrass has been cleared of illegally driving his car while a baby was being held by a passenger.

The 30-year-old Aston Villa player, who is on loan from West Ham, was charged with driving on Glasgow’s Duke Street 17 April, 2015 with too many people in the car to allow a baby sea to be used.

It was alleged the manner in which passengers were carried in the car “involved a danger of injury”.

Snodgrass, originally from Glasgow, who has earned 25 international caps for Scot- 0 Robert Snodgrass was cleared by Glasgow court land, appeared yesterday at the city’s Justice of the Peace Court.

Defence lawyer Martin Black successfully argued there was no case to answer follow- ing evidence from two police officers.

The court heard a one-yearold girl was being held in the back seat on the lap of a passenger.

PC Leigh Perkins said the child could sustain a serious injury if there was a collision involving the car

But JP Morag Wilson upheld there was no case to answer on the basis that the danger of injury, other than in a collision, was not corroborated.

Mr Black said: “It has to be a material danger. What we have here the court can see the distance that was travelled was extremely limited. It’s a distance that was being travelled at a modest speed.”
