Dundee Low road to Hampden
By mid-january, most people’s new year resolutions have disappeared in a puff of smoke. So, too, do Dundee’s hopes of ending a 108-year wait to kiss the Scottish Cup.
As has seemingly become tradition, we have a tie against an in-form Championship side, this season’s banana skin being Inverness. Thankfully, Neil Mccann has not repeated Paul Hartley’s mistake of promising silverware. Exiting the League Cup at the quarter-final stage by losing to Celtic is, measured against our low expectations, something resembling progress.
Although Motherwell made their way to the Betfred Cup final by swiping aside Aberdeen and Rangers, I’d take a succession of lower league opponents en route to Hampden.
