Armstrong says trip for surgery was a success

-

Celtic’s Stuart Armstrong has declared his trip to Germany for surgery a success.

The 25-year-old midfielder is set for a period out of action after undergoing a hernia operation after stopping off on the way back from a winter break with the Scottish champions in Dubai.

Armstrong wrote on his Instagram account “successful trip” as he happily posed for a picture with Celtic’s head physiotherapist Tim Williamson at Munich airport on Tuesday afternoon.

The former Dundee United player, who joined Celtic in 2015, will miss the Scottish Cup tie against Brechin City on Saturday and league games against Partick, Hibs and Hearts.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have a busy schedule coming up including a Europa League clash with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg in February.
