Buccleuch site nearly complete
Edinburgh-headquartered Buccleuch Property’s multimillion pound industrial development in milton keynes is on the verge of completion, it emerged yesterday.
The firm believes that the £4.25 million scheme, which has been developed in partnership with local property company Secklow Asset Management, will go some way towards alleviating the shortage of high-quality industrial accommodation in the region.
The 31,500 square foot building is said to be the first speculative new build of its size in Milton Keynes for more than ten years.
Neil Finnie of Buccleuch Property said the new development was likely to prove attractive to companies that have struggled to find industrial space to let in the town.
“We’ve been able to complete this development in the space of six months due to our development expertise and a strong local partner,” he added. “With the acute shortage of supply of industrial accommodation in the area, we are already experiencing significant interest in the building.”
It follows the news earlier this week that the Scots firm had released land at a major development site in Kettering, Northamptonshire, to develop a care home, affordable housing and a new primary school in deals worth a total of £15m.
Construction has already started on the £5m, 66-bed care home after detailed planning consent was received by LNT Group, with work due to be completed by October. The care home provider purchased the one-acre site from Buccleuch for £875,000.
Under the affordable housing deal, Rockingham Forest Housing Association has forward purchased 27 units, to be delivered by Buccleuch through a £3m build contract with Westleigh Partnerships.
