Arnold Clark snaps up new location in Inverness

- By SCOTT REID

A prime industrial site in Inverness has been bought by car dealer Arnold Clark for a seven‑figure sum.

Acting on behalf of Forest Enterprise Scotland, Shep‑ herd Chartered Surveyors said it had sold the rede‑ velopment opportunity to the family‑owned car deal‑ ership giant for “in excess of” the guide price of £1.25 million.

The deal follows the relo‑ cation of the mechanical engineering services work‑ shop of Forest Enterprise, which is part of the Forest‑ ry Commission, to “more appropriate” premises on the city’s Henderson Road.

The site acquired by Arnold Clark is said to ben‑ efit from a “high‑profile” roadside location with con‑ nections to the main road network, including the A9 and A96.

Sandy Rennie, partner at Shepherd, said: “The site is without question one of the best in Inverness, benefit‑ ing from significant vehi‑ cle traffic on busy Harbour Road.

“We had a number of par‑ ties interested and, follow‑ ing a closing date being set, Arnold Clark was identi‑ fied as the preferred party.”
