Ferry linkspan hailed as milestone for project

The installation of a link‑ span at Mcinroy’s Point, Gourock has been hailed as a significant milestone towards the completion of Western Ferries’ terminal investment.

The 30‑metre span, built by Ferguson Marine, was lowered into place via crane earlier this week. It is expected that the new facil‑ ity will be completed and fully operational by mid‑ February after the terminal works were completed by George Leslie last month.

Western Ferries, which operates a passenger and vehicle ferry serv‑ ice between Gourock and Dunoon, said it has focused its investment programme on ensuring the “continued operational resilience, flex‑ ibility and robustness that its customers rely on”.
