Queen of the South Depleted Doonhamers

- Neil Cameron

It was always going to be a tough ask for the threadbare squad that battled so hard for the victory over Livingston to repeat the task against a rejuvenated Inverness side.

Gary Naysmith’s options were even more limited with Andy Stirling absent and first-choice keeper Alan Martin missing with a knock. With loanees Jason Kerr and Chris Kane playing their final game for the club, the squad will be further depleted for our Scottish Cup tie with Partick. There was no indication in the manager’s postmatch interview to suggest there would be any new signings coming in, leaving us with untested youth players to supplement the first team. What had looked like an eminently winnable tie now looks like a case of damage limitation.
