A labour of love: Scots artist took his time on impressive collages after stint in the ‘Big Apple’

Love is an exhibition of 12 large-scale multimedia collages made between 1988 and 1991 by Steven Campbell – one of Glasgow’s most celebrated artists. Mr Campbell started the works on his return to Scotland in 1987 following a five-year period of living and working in New York. He often completed canvasses in five days, but spent weeks on the creation of these largely twodimensional collages.
