Store apologises after false alarm over package

-

A suspicious package that forced an Aberdeen supermarket to be evacuated has turned out to be a false alarm.

Sainsbury’s at Garthdee had to be cleared after the alarm was raised just before 9am yesterday.

Police Scotland and firefighters attended. The alarm was declared false within two hours.

Sainsbury’s said in a statement: “The store has now reopened. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.”
