Wind firm aims to erect 49 turbines

Plans for a major wind farm along the boundary between the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway have been unveiled.

Some 49 turbines would be built under the project put forward by Community Windpower.

It claimed the project would invest about £256 million in the area. Concerns have been raised about the landscape impact of the site, about 15 miles south-west of Hawick.
