Inquiry as man, 37, found dead ‘after altercation’

A 37-year-old man has been found dead, sparking a police inquiry.

Officers said that at around 11:15am, they were called to a report of the body of a man being discovered within a property in Dalgleish Avenue, Cumnock.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are currently treating as unexplained. It is understood that the man was involved in an altercation with a group of males and females in the Tower Street area of Cumnock at around 7:30pm on Friday.
