Man detained over bid to injure police officer

A man has been detained over what police described as an attempt to injure one of their officers.

The incident happened in Bannockburn Road, Stirling, just after 8:30pm on Saturday.

Police Scotland said two police officers left their marked vehicle to speak to a man driving a white Ford Transit van. But the vehicle then drove away, causing one of the officers to “take evasive action” to avoid being involved in a collision, police said.

A man has been detained in connection with the incident.
