#SNOW

Roads were brought to a halt across Scotland as another band of heavy snow swept in. Glasgow Airport was temporarily closed during yesterday’s winter blast. @greagsy said: “This country must be the only country who cannot deal with this weather. Everything comes to a standstill yet Scandinavian countries who get it worse seem to cope and continue with their daily routines.” @kudos17x added: “Has everyone to leave work again and clog up roads making accidents more likely? Could have waited to actual finishing time with better weather and clearer roads.” @Networkrailscot said: “The West Highland Line is a challenge but our team has been out day and night clearing snow and ice.”

#TIMESUP

Despite the appearance of rain, sleet and snow, thousands of activists took to the streets to call “time’s up” on issues including inequality, sexual harassment and violence against women. @Veryberrycherry said: “I will march in the sunshine. I will stand in the snow. As they all did 100 years ago.” @Lousierawauthor added: “Waiting to speak at #Timesup London rally. Massive crowd of amazing sisters and brothers despite dreadful weather - sleet never stopped sisterhood.” @bpas1968 said: “The rain is certainly not stopping London calling #timesup on inequality, harassment and violence against women. We hear you!”

#UKIP

Ukip leader Henry Bolton told ITV’S Robert Peston programme that if the in-fighting continues in the party and the National Executive Committee issue a vote of no confidence, the party’s future is in jeopardy. @adampayne26 said: “Henry Bolton has just told Peston that Ukip should keep him as leader because it would be too expensive to sack him. What a pitch.” @Casumptious added: “Peston pushed Bolton down a rabbit hole with an underline threat for Ukip NEC if they decided to vote no confidence in his leadership and Ukip are over! No Henry Bolton, your fantasy lifestyle will be over more like.” @DVATW said: “I could not care less about Henry Bolton’s private life. It’s between him and his conscience.”
