Foodbank founder faces £15,000 trial

The founder of a foodbank is to stand trial in June for allegedly embezzling £15,000.

Julie Webster, 41, is charged with pocketing the money between March and December 2015 from Greater Maryhill foodbank.

Webster, from Summerston, Glasgow, pleaded not guilty through a letter from her lawyer when the case called at the city’s sheriff court.

Prosecutor­s claim that she did “while co-ordinator of Greater Maryhill foodbank, embezzle £15,000” from the foodbank at Chapel Street.
