has messed with the youngster – and at 21, he is that – and messed with his head. However, Davies is at pains to stress that this hasn’t affected his attitude on a dayto-day basis within the confines of his Lennoxtown workplace.

“The nature of the window is that, in my experience, even with established players, the uncertainty and instability of the window can affect them... let alone guys who have speculation around them to stay or go. So Moussa has not been unprofessional in his behaviour.

“As the manager alluded to, he’s been slighted affected by what is going on around him and the speculation. But there’s no problem. He here, he’s available, he working hard, the manager has an open line of commu

with him, they talk quite regularly.

“So that’s no problem a all. We just support them and talk to them, let them know our feelings and thoughts on it and see what happens. It’s a period of instability for managers and teams, as well as players, so you have to expect that.” Kenny Mclean yesterday finalised a move from Aberdeen to Norwich City and was then immediately loaned back to the Dons for the remainder of the season. It’s a move that Pittodrie manager Derek Mcinnes has described as the “best outcome” for his team.

Mclean’s future had been up in the air since October, when the 26-year-old box-tobox midfielder told Aberdeen that he would not be renewing his contract at the end of the season. Rangers were understood to be pursuing Mclean and it was widely predicted that he would end up at Ibrox, if not this month then probably in the summer when he was a free agent.

But on Sunday, the day after helping Aberdeen to a 4-1 Scottish Cup victory over St Mirren, Mclean flew down to Norwich to undergo a medical and conclude personal terms with the English Championship side.

He has signed a three-anda-half year deal at the Canaries for an undisclosed fee – reportedly around £200,000, of which former club St Mirren are due a small cut – but will not join up with Daniel Farke’s squad until this season is finished.

“When it became clear Kenny would be leaving the club, of course, we wanted him to remain with us until the end of the season, so this represents the best outcome for us,” said Mcinnes. “It’s a fantastic move for Kenny, both in terms of his career and financially, and I am delighted for him – he has earned his move.

“The importance of him remaining for the rest of the season was prevalent in his mind and he has represented both his own and the club’s interests superbly.

“All parties involved have handled the situation extremely well and we’ve ended up with an outcome which is positive for both Aberdeen and Norwich.”

Mclean, pictured, will be back in action tomorrow when Aberdeen visit Ibrox. He said: “Norwich has the right feel about it. I’ve met people at the club and it just seemed right that this was the place for me to come.” Norwich boss Farke is happy to get such a versatile player on board. “Kenny is a player who is really flexible,” he said. “He can play nearly each and every position in midfield – as a No 10, a No 8, a No 6 or as a winger who comes inside. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
