Picardy Place plan pedestrian ‘poor’
Walking campaigners have hit out at Edinburgh City Council’s latest plans for the Picardy Place traffic scheme.
Living Streets Edinburgh has argued the planned design will make the area “a poorer place for pedestrians”.
Their analysis has suggested the new design would worsen the walking environment, primarily through reduction in some footway widths and the bisecting of the Leith Street east-side footway by a new cycle lane.
A council report will be considered on Thursday.
