Sales uplift at Procter&gamble

Procter & Gamble, the world’s biggest consumer goods business, yesterday reported a 2 per cent lift in organic sales in its second trading quarter, but a 1 per cent drop in gross profit margins.

P & G said profit margins had been squeezed by higher commodity costs and reductions in prices in the grooming business that includes Gillette razor blades.
