Motherwell Boosted by cup win

Fir Park was lifted on Saturday with a massive cup win over Hamilton, which has done a lot to ease nerves. Our poor run of form to end 2017 was undeniably horrific.

While the League Cup wins over Aberdeen and Rangers will naturally dominate the endof-season highlight reel, it was the gritty win in the earlier round over Ross County – with ten men – which suggested this year’s team had something. .

Our next home games are against Ross County, Partick Thistle, St Johnstone and Dundee, albeit with trips to Hearts and Hibs included. Losses in Edinburgh would be annoying but Fir Park offers the chance to set ourselves up for the months ahead.
