Kilmarnock Fitting tribute

- Barry Richmond

With two midweek home fixtures cancelled, it is a good job the cup game against Ross County went ahead. Facilities manager Mark Gallagher and groundsman David Moody came through and proved that keeping an artificial surface playable in arctic conditions is achievable.

With Youssouf Mulumbu missing, we made heavier weather of things than has been the case of late. Rory Mackenzie was clever enough to be “fouled” in the box and Lee Erwin made no mistake from the spot to see us through to the next round against Brora. Best performance of the day was by 120 “Paninaros” in full voice, who had convened in hospitality on the first anniversary of the passing of well-known fan Scott Mcguinness and paid a fitting tribute.
