Second home tax ‘could hit 3.4m’
A group formed to fight proposals for a five-fold increase in council tax on second homes in the Yorkshire Dales says the move could eventually hit 3.4 million householders across the UK.
The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority backed the measure last month. It is now consulting with the eight local authorities which form parts of the national park.
The Dales Homeowners Action Group also says the plan would see house prices fall for both full-time residents and second home owners.
