Elderly woman dies after being struck by van

A pensioner has died after being struck by a van while crossing the road.

The incident happened at Millarbank Street, Springburn, in Glasgow at about 7:50am yesterday.

Emergency services attended but the 76-yearold woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Constable Adnan Alam said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area about 7:50am and may have witnessed what happened to please contact the police.”

Officers urged anyone with information to contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit via 101.
