Shares in Fuller, Smith & Turner jumped more than 2 per cent after the pubs and brewer group reported a “solid performance” despite a tough backdrop over the 42 weeks to 20 January.

Like-for-like sales at its managed pubs and hotels rose 3 per cent, while comparative figures for its tenanted inns rose 2 per cent. Beer and cider volumes were flat.
