Laszlo feels United are over their blip after cup win

-

Second-placed Dundee United host Morton with manager Csaba Laszlo determined that his players show that they have recovered from their damaging defeats by St Mirren and Falkirk.

The Tannadice men ended 2017 with a 2-0 reverse in Paisley, and whilst Brechin City were defeated as 2018 was seen in, a 6-1 trouncing at Falkirk deflated United and their Championship title hopes.

Laszlo says has seen signs of recovery. “It was important to get our confidence back after a disappointing couple of results,” he said. “We went to Alloa in the Scottish Cup with some people looking for a shock however we came through that with a 2-0 win. We are progressing again and we can look forward to facing Morton.”

Morton manager Jim Duffy reckons that the feelgood factor from his side’s 2-1 Scottish Cup win at Dunfermline last weekend will help them on Tayside.

Duffy said: “I thought we played well at Dunfermline and we can look forward to Tannadice as a result.”

“We are in the right frame of mind to give it our best.”

Livingston entertain Dumbarton, resurgent Falkirk host Inverness Caledonian Thistle with winless Brechin City travelling to Dumfries to face Queen of the South.
